Here’s a quick Raw Food guide to help you fight off your cooked temptations!
The Temptation: Greasy, Fried Foods, Fries, Chicken, etc!
The Solution: Make all your friends jealous. Eat guacamole like they always wanted to. With a Spoon! Ha! Fight off your cravings for greasy food with good ol fatty guacamole. Simple Recipe: 4 Avocados, 1/2 Onion, 1 or 2 tomatoes, salt and your good to go! You could always slap it between two slices of cucumber and call it a sandwich!
The Temptation: Cookies, Chocolate, Ice Cream!
The Solution: Ahhh good old cookies and Ice cream! Take a bite out of an Organic Banana and your sweet tooth will thank you for it. Smooth, creamy, sweet, and not dehydrating! Go ahead, indulge, eat ten! Or make a smoothie: 1 cup vanilla flavored almond milk, 2-3 bananas, 2-3 teaspoons raw agave, and ice. Or if you don’t have all that, just do bananas and ice!
The Temptation: Salty Chips!
The Solution: Get to your kitchen and rinse off some lettuce! Throw in some Tomatoes, cucumbers and raw sunflower seeds if you have it! Top it off with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper. Extra salt if you want to be dangerous!
The Temptation: Hunger…..Everything!
If everything around you is starting to look like too much, you must eat! Eat eat eat! Keep eating so that you don’t get to the point of feeling like shoving anything in your mouth! Bite into an orange, eat raw sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds, a banana, anything! If you allow yourself to fully feel hungry, that is when you will be the most vulnerable.
This is a hard journey. If you have transgressions, don’t give up. Discipline and ‘diet training’ is like a muscle, you need to work at it. Even if you slip up and have a bit of this or that, stick with your plan, it’s okay, you didn’t fail!
Use your Purse/Car!
Keep your purse/car stocked with 3-4 apples or 4-5 bananas so when your on the go you have something to eat. You cannot survive this diet without having food accessible ASAP! Use your purse ladies!
At least 10 bananas a day, 2 packets of guacamole or avocados, lettuce, tomatoes, apples, strawberries (1-2 packs of good ones, or else they will taste gross and be a waste), and almond milk. I can easily eat 10 bananas a day, which is about 1200 calories, throw in some guacamole and your already hitting your caloric goal.
Keep stuff you like, and small amounts of experimental fruits/veggies. Even if raw eggplant is really, really good for you, if you don’t eat it, it’s just a waste. Start with things you love.
The Green Smoothie!
I haven’t come across a green smoothie i genuinely enjoy yet, (if you have a good one, feel free to share) I rather have a big salad. Think about that!
